Pictureka! Museum Mayhem - Work for a Treat!
Pictureka! Museum Mayhem is a hidden object game that is instantly distinguished among other HOGs due to its unusual graphics and fun game play. You will meet the most weird characters and encounter cute but challenging tasks in this cartoon-like game.
No treat until we find the bandits! Tally-ho!
Artie is a museum dog. He is used to getting his treats for being a nice doggie. But this night something strange happened in the Museum he guards. Some bandits broke in the building and turned all the exhibit halls into a complete mess. Valuable exhibits damaged, precious items messed up, and something definitely disappeared! So, time for hard work! While the trespassers ahven't managed to leave the museum, Artie follows the trace, meanwhile restoring order in the the destroyed exhibit halls. And he should stay on vigil, as bandits are sly and can still hinder him in fulfilling his duty!
So that's the story, simple but cute and unexpected. The basic game play is that of hidden object style, where you look for items in a screen overloaded with, actually, items. The peculiarity of Pictureka is that there is no certain locations or scenes, just a screen with lots of random, mostly weird hand-drawn and cartoon-like items from any topic you could imagine.
For each level you have a time limit and some cards to complete. Cards offer you tasks for finding something, but the items are not specified and are presented just as categories. For example, you can get a card saying 'Two things that can fly'. Those can be a UFO and a butterfly. Or a dragon and a plane. Or whatever else can fly. Sometimes there are more items in the screen than you need to find - that makes your life a bit easier.
If you get stuck with a card, you can press the Pass button and proceed to the next one. But beware - you need to complete a certain number of cards, otherwise you might lose all your score.
You can also use hints in the form of little bats (amazingly!). Their number is also limited, but you can earn additional ones if you play efficiently and manage to make Artie go past a picture on the wall during one level.
On the whole the game is quite specific, and the graphics is very unusual for hidden
objects. If you enjoy the genre and are tired of all the detective stories and ancient
ruines, Pictureka! can be a really nice change!
