Democracy is a fantastic strategy game from Zero G Games.

 

How about controlling not just a company or a town, but the whole country?

 

Well that's what you are to do in the game.

 

You are to be a President or a Prime Minster of the country you choose.

 

You are free to choose the country you would like to lead.

 

You are offered a list of countries such as Canada, Poland, Russia etc... to choose from.

 

Then you are to rule in all the spheres as a President or Prime Minister.

 

You are shown a map of all the spheres of the country and informed about all the important events taking place on its territory.      

 

The screen is full of buttons that show you the complete situation in the country.

 

The map is divided into the sections like welfare, economy, tax, public services, law and order, transport, foreign affairs.

 

Each section has a number of buttons with more specific things.

 

For example, the Tax section has a button for income tax and car tax.

 

There are also other buttons at the bottom that show you the things like the promises you  made to your electorate or the government expenditure.  

 

In the center you can see the reaction of the parties and powers to what is going on in the country and your policy and how are some things in the country are connected.

 

Quarterly reports show the results of you policies.

 

So the idea is to implement the policies you believe are good and help the country with the crisis if there is any.

 

You are allowed to make 2 changes in some areas.

 

You are also informed of the things like poor harvest or terrorist attacks or whatsoever.

 

And you are also to make a decision like to appoint a judge or to ban a law.

 

All this you can do within a quarter. After that you get a quarterly report showing you the results of your actions.

 

The whole game is politics-themed with tons of famous politicians' quotes.

 

The game gets really fun as you try to find ways to deal with the debt of the country doing your best to get the favor of the parties and people. The game is full of the famous politicians' quotes. For examples, Nelson Mandela's words: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world".  

 

Democracy is a really challenging game. It will be interesting for those who think they could do better than those at power.
