Bookworm - word-game for your Palm PC.Bookworm - Word Game for  Palm PC

Bookworm is a brain-teasing puzzle where one meets a funny green bookworm called Lex. Little Lex has really wolfish appetite and is always looking for something to chomp. Only words made of letters one can see on a playing field can satisfy his growing appetite.

So the main purpose of the game is to connect letter tiles on a library wall into words.

The longer is the word, the more points you get. To link the tiles into the word, click on each tile of the word and press submit button. The word will disappear between bookworm's jaws scoring you points. Remember that only neighboring tiles can be used to make a word.

Some letters on your library wall are burning red. As soon as they reach the bottom, the library will be set on fire!

To link tiles into word, click on each letter of supposed wordSome burning tiles are occasionally added to library wall.

You have to use these red letters as soon as possible not to let them reach the bottom of the playing field.

If you fail to use them until they fall, your library will be set to fire and the game will be over.

Mind that the longer the word you make is, the less burning tiles are added to your library wall.

Proceeding through the game, you'll be rewarded with green and gold letters - use these power-ups to score bonus points.

Apart from burning letters, green and gold letters are added to playing field from time to time. Using them in your word, you'll score more points. To ‘win' bonus tiles, you have to make a word of five letters. You can also get Diamond and Sapphire tiles on your library wall. They are more precious but to get them you have to ‘repeat' the word prepared by bookworm.

If you are completely at a loss about words to make and want to change the word combination on the library wall, you can scramble all tiles.

Occasionally green and red burning letters are added to playing field

Click on a bookworm and letters on the playing field will be shuffled. But such word-change will cost you some scores.

The game has two modes: Classic mode and Action mode.

The first mode will suit those who need time to think over the word combination, as there is no time limitation in the mode. The second mode is a quick-paced game where red burning letters are constantly added to a playing field.

The game is a brilliant present for all word fans. These puzzle with more than 35,000 words is sure to increase word-combination skills.

Besides, it allows children learn new words ‘imitating' the worm's words. Animated graphics and amazing sound effects make the game even more interesting and addictive. Have a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year playing this refreshing brainteaser!

P.S. By the way, this month PopCap released Deluxe version of Bookworm called Bookworm Adventures Deluxe. Does anybody know when they will be ported to mobile devices?

We enjoy this game so much - I have 1,900,000 points as my top score. The only comment I have is that I would like to have a "pause" for the game to be able to go to other parts of my computer (like email) and just be able to click a "bookworm" button and resume play....

Disagree with the game review or have anything else to say about the game?
