CSI:NY - The Game is a new show-basedhidden object game developed by Legacy Games and published by Ubisoft/Big Fish Games. The game offers a great opportunity to play several cases with already
familiar characters. The graphics (I mean characters) and sounds (I
mean voices) are all borrowed from the tv show.
You have 4 cases to solve. When you start each of them you see the intro reminiscent from the show.
After the investigation of a crime scene you play a number of hidden
object games and different mini-games, that usually represent all kinds
of analyses.
Insider Tales: The Stolen Venus is one of the latest releases. The game is developed and published by Intenium. It offers lots of hidden object levels and a range of mini-games to play. You play as a young detective named
Francesca DiPorta. This young beautiful lady is to find out who is
behind stealing a painting from a gallery. Though the hidden object sections are disappointingly ordinary, the
plethora of minigames that take place between levels almost makes up
for them. While it might not quite be the hidden object game you were hoping for, you 'll likely still find Insider Tales: The Stolen Venus entertaining enough to see it through to the end.
Annabel is really a 3D hidden object game developed by JetDogs Studios and published by NevoSoft. The game features an interesting story, great graphics and lots of seek-and-find levels and mini-games. You go to Egypt both geographically and through time to save life and love of two people. As you may guess from the title, the
main character is Annabel. She is just a tourist in Egypt visiting one
of the museums there. This
trip to the museum led her farther than she shought. She is told the story of another Annabel who was Egyptian and lived long ago. She looks just like the princess and has a chance to save the princess's fate and her boyfriend's life. All in all the game is very enjoyable and offers a good change with its 3D graphics.
Curse of the Pharaoh: Napoleon's Secret is a sequel following its predecessor Curse of the Pharaoh: The Quest for Nefertiti.
This time you are to go through a number of locations all over the
world in order to see the continuation of the story from the first
release.
In case you don't remember or don't know he died then and now
Anna is trying to figure out the reasons of everything that happened.
The emphasis of the gaming part is mostly on spot-the-difference levels. There's also a number of hidden object levels, where everything is quite typical - a list of items to find on a cluttered scene.
The Mysterious City: Cairo is a sequel of The Mysterious City: Golden Prague.
The game takes us to a journey to Egypt. It's not like we, hidden object
game fans, haven't been there before in other games, but it is still
different and it is what the developers offer us.
You are to track down three artifacts that got lost on their way to a
musium in Alexandria. That's pretty much all about the story.
The gaming part is a great example of what a hidden object genre is -
variety of hidden object levels, mini-games, timer and a relaxed mode
for those who are not quick enough. The Mysterious City: Cairo really is a good game both for the new to the genre and for the well familiar with it.
